British Building is Actually Archimedes Death Ray…

The “Walkie Talkie” tower in London, England is a 37-story skyscraper covered with 355,000 square feet of mirrored glass.  It’s convex shape is one of it’s unique design points.  It also just happens to be perfectly designed (although, most likely inadvertently) to channel solar energy into a spot on the ground at Fenchurch Street.  It has reportedly melted the plastic side mirror off a Jaguar XJ, fried eggs, burned a bicycle seat, and burned a hole in a doormat.  Luckily, the phenomenon will only last two to three weeks, after which the sun’s position will have altered enough as to no longer be focused by the Walkie Talkie tower AKA Archimedes Death Ray building.
